Asian qualifying has 4 rounds: First Round (lowest-ranked teams), Second Round, Third Round (final qualification), and Playoff (last chance).

Japan, South Korea, Australia, Saudi Arabia, Iran, and Qatar are leading Asian qualifiers. Indonesia and Thailand have also shown strong improvement.

The 2026 format gives Asia 8 spots (up from 6). Third Round has 18 teams in 3 groups of 6, with top 2 per group qualifying directly and remaining teams entering playoffs.
